New Orleans' Own Celebrity Chef

Chef Damion Banks began working in the kitchen as a teenager under New Orleans Chef, Austin Leslie. Damion’s uncle, Marvin Beauchamp, was the sous chef at Chef Austin's restaurant, so he got Damion a summer job there washing dishes. Every moment he could, Damion watched the chefs and studied their techniques.

One day there was a need in the kitchen other than the dishes. So, Damion, who took to cooking like a fish to water and began to work his way through ranks at the well established restaurant. He pressed in, with a desire to be the best with position and promotion. He impressed Chef Austin with his artistic nature and work ethic. After a few years learning everything he could, Damion accepted the opportunity to move on to Olivier’s as a Chef. It was there that Chef Banks was employed for over 13 years, including 8 years as Executive Chef.

Working for this 3rd generation Creole restaurant in the heart of the French Quarter, including an essential to opening two additional locations in New Orleans, Chef Banks perfected his professional portfolio and advance in creativity.
